Pastor Damon Joseph

My name is Damon Joseph and I am the Pastor of Christ Bible Church. I was born in Harlan, KY, but currently live in Kingsport, TN. My family and I moved here at a young age, and I have spent most of my life in the area. My wonderful wife, Mandy, grew up in Gate City, VA. We have been married 11 years and have 6 children: Anna (11), Elise (9), Daniel (7), Hudson (5), Samuel (2) and Haddon (<1). I came to know Christ at the age of 15 as a result of the faithful service and witness of a school-mate. It wasn’t until I faithfully attended a church centered on the Word of God and sat under sound Biblical preaching that I became grounded in the Truth. By the leadership of the Spirit of God I answered call into the ministry at the age of 24. I finished a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing that I was currently working on. I didn’t understand it at the time, but God used that career to enable me to faithfully support my family while furthering my education in Seminary just 1 year later. Upon completing my Seminary work, I had the privilege of assisting other local Pastors in the ministry and as an Associate Pastor for a period of time.

Christ Bible Church is the fruit of the work of God in the heart of several Christians to plant a Reformed Baptist Church in the heart of East Tennessee. We have a great love for God and a great burden for this community. We are praying that the people of the Tri-cities come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ! Please pray with us as we seek the salvation of the lost and the establishment of Christ’s Kingdom in the Tri-cities area of East Tennessee!

The Future Leadership of Christ Bible Church

At Christ Bible Church we believe the Word of God is supreme! In saying that, we believe the the Bible teaches the two offices present in the local New Testament church are “elders” and “deacons”. The term “elder” is a term to refer to the pastoral role of a church. We believe that the term pastor, elder, and shepherd are distinct terms describing different aspects of the pastoral role. We also believe that the New Testament model dictates a plurality of eldership, or multiple pastors to be the spiritual leadership over God’s flock. The term “deacon” refers to a qualified servant within the local congregation called by the leadership to care for the needs of the church. This service can manifest itself in a variety of manners such as, but not limited to, the care of the “widows” in Acts 6.

Please pray for us as it is our desire and are currently pursuing to soon place more Biblically qualified elders and deacons into leadership positions in Christ Bible Church. It is imperative for the health of our church to help aid in the maturation of God’s children and the protection of the flock against error!
